29er / Re: New IP-057 Build
« on: November 20, 2014, 03:58:19 PM »
After exchanging emails with Peter at XMI-Play for a bout a week i found it could be as much as 45 day before shipping.

Welcome to the party!!!  I'm on day 35 of what was originally projected to be 20-25 days...

Bert told me 30-45 days on a 057. Is Peter better to deal with? There seems to be some "lost in translation" going on with Bert.
They're representing the same company, XmiPlay/iPlay, and the same service and quality. But I think Peter's English is better than Bert's (and mine ;) ).
But I can tell you, I had to wait more than 45 days on my IP256SL and it was really worth it. Don't have any regrets. The 057 is the same quality, cheaper, well proven and I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun when the build is done. You will forget the waiting.

Awesome !!! Do you have an exact type indication of this SRAM FD ? Maybe an url?

Much better than a XT FD like I have :(

29er / Re: Did you check your dropout screws recently? (256 frame)
« on: November 19, 2014, 04:15:21 AM »
The screws that came with my 256 frame(drop out, bottom hatch,...) are crap too, and they are rusting already.
I have in my todo list to change them.

For now, I try to insure the hex/torx key is well placed, and clean the hole, before tightening.
Yes, they're really crap. Tightened mines this weekend and and almost screw up the head.

Hi there, I've got the same frame. I used a Shimano FD-M785-E2 XT Front Derailleur 2x10 (E-Type). And I think this is the only FD that fits the direct mount on this frame.

Please read my topic from this post and it will give you some more information: http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,184.msg2624.html#msg2624

Nice! Really a winter build with that snow in the background. (where do you come from?)

Did the frame came without guidance hoses ?

So many Stumpjumpers produced, so many geometries. Do you have a specific build/year of a SJ in mind ? And what geometry does the build have/need to have ?

Component Deals & Selection / Re: Plasti Dip
« on: November 13, 2014, 02:25:13 AM »
I tried to make a nice design, but it's a hell of a job. There're eight layers of plastidip needed to cover up the frame nicely. After every two layers, I've to remove the design tape, let it dry, put tape on again, spray two layers, remove tape, dry, tape on again, etc. It's a very secure job.

Made a mistake, didn't remove the tape after two layers, the plastidip sticks on the tape and I damaged the design when removing the tape. So, I could start over again.

So, it's on hold for the moment ...

There are no inner tunes. The white tubes are only to guide the bare cable through the frame and then you have to remove the white tubes.

The guide on the bottom of the bottom bracket is only to guide the bare cable around the bottom bracket and prevent the cable wearing the frame. It stays there.

My bottom bracket guide plate is only guiding the cable for the front derraileur. The cable for the rear derailleur is running through the full outer hose and I guide it above the bottom bracket.

There's only one style of the IP-256. Only the guide tubes were missing.
If you want to run the full cable through your frame, like me, you have to drill out the cable stops for the rear derailleur.

This weekend I was in Nijmegen at the event City Downhill Nijmegen 2014. Very nice event. If you post a week earlier, I could take my bike with me :)
I guess you ride sometimes the Posbank ?

This was my track and trace for my iPlay carbon wheelset:

For me it was also a surprise when it arrived and what I had to pay the customs.

Nice to have you on ChinerTown.
Do you have some geometry information of these frames? And pictures?
