Check what the 'native' rotor size is for that frame. I'm going to guess it is native 160mm. The 160mm adapters are better labeled at +20mm for using on 140mm native frames.

068/069 is 160mm native for the rear rotor, so you don't need an adapter plate at all and can just mount the caliper directly to the chainstay.

Thank you @trcycling and @ frnchy! Yeah after removing the adapter in the rear and changed the front adapter to "140mm" adapter, it works now!  The instruction manual on the GeX did not mention this.  I guess their manual was just for one special case where the bike frame was for both 140mm and 160mm rotors. Thank you again!

I'm looking to buy a set of GeX 93mm carbon for my next gravel build. I'm US based. Where do you guys get the best price?

The best prices should be directly from their website. They don't charge sales tax. That's a whopping 9.25% in California. :)

I recently installed the Wheeltop GeX wireless groupset, purchased directly from their website for $599, with no sales tax or import tariffs. After spending some time with it, here are my thoughts.

The $599 Price Tag?
-- It sells for $599 for a reason, reflecting certain compromises:
        - Poor Documentation: Setting up the hydraulic brake hoses was a challenge due to the complete lack of step-by-step instructions. Other parts of the manual were also vague or incorrect.
        - No Brake Lever Travel Adjustment: This is a notable omission, as it limits customization for brake feel.
        - Awkward Charging Port: The charging port on the derailleur is positioned directly where the jockey wheel retracts. To charge it, you have to manually force the jockey wheel arm away, which clearly indicates a lack of user-centric design consideration.
        - no resale value. nobody knows this brand outside of this community

Other Takeaways
Despite the setup quirks, there are some positives:
             - Decent Value for Wireless: At $599, it offers reasonable value for a wireless groupset, especially if you plan on keeping it long-term.
             - Functional Performance: Crucially, the shifting and braking perform as intended, with no complaints on that front.

Overall, the Wheeltop GeX is a functional wireless groupset for its price, but be prepared for some frustrating installation and design oversights. Its real value lies in its low upfront cost, assuming you're not planning to sell it down the line. But I do welcome these Chinese companies like Wheeltop, it will forces Shimano and SRAM to keep innovating and keep coming up better stuffs, which benefits all of us bike enthusiasts.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking about going the AliExpress route, but always feel their sellers are shady and I might not get tech support from Wheeltop.

I was going to go with the new SRAM Rival 1x 13 speed XPLR set up but decided to abandon because: 1. The cost. 2. Dot fluid. I know SRAM is migrating to mineral oil with their MTB groupsets. That hasn't happened in the road/gravel yet.

I have some Sram 12spd Eagle parts laying around. They were intended for a light weight hardtail MTB build. That project was later replaced with the gravel project(a used Lauf Seigla). So I have 10/50 12 Speed cassette, Chain, dub BB and a Force 1x 40T crankset. Just need the shifters and the RD. I don't really need the Wheeltop brake calipers since I have a set of 105 calipers and Wheeltop runs on mineral oil. So if the Wheeltop Gex works as well as every one of those youtubers rave about(except Peak Torque), it could complement with my SRAM parts and finish my build.

This Wheeltop idea is more or less of a stop gap and budget solution for now. I'm just waiting on better electric 1X wide groupset options available in near future.

I think you're describing nearly the perfect use case.

a) someone who knows how to work on the gear
b) someone who has parts in the bin
c) someone who may very well bounce between different 'speeds' in the lifetime of the product. (Pet peeve of mine is how Shimano and SRAM both demanded latest everything to use electronic when it would be trivial to support at least adjacent setups. Pure planned obsolescence not technical)

And yes, the Shimano calipers will work fine. That's what I'm using because I needed (and had) post mount calipers.  Also DOT fluid isn't that big of a deal. A bit of extra care when working with it is all.

Just checked out your Gex build blog. Very informative and helpful. Does Wheeltop US website offer sale discounts like those Chinese carbon frame/wheel websites? I noticed those Chinese carbon frame/wheel website often have sale events.

So True! You articulated it very well!

SRAM just released the new 13 speed cassette. You can use the same 12 speed flattop chain with it but they make sure you have to use new "13 speed" shifter and rear derailleur for it.  In electronic shifting systems, the derailleur moves by a step motor.  Technically speaking, it's just a smartphone app update away to get you from 12-speed to 13-speed. But SRAM made sure you can't do that. This is what pisses me off and make me go for Wheeltop to spite SRAM. We need to support the little guys to put the big guys in check.

From what I understood they "just" added a cog inward to a 12 cogs cassette, keeping the same space between cogs, so the chains can remain.
The design of old derailleurs maybe limited in the distance they can do inward.
Are you sure older shifter can't pilot a new 13s derailleur ? I thought it was ok.

I saw the e-groupset from Sensah at Eurobike(not yet available I think), they had as well the speed you want by the app(9? to 13)

Just another probably “nice2know” item concerning rear derailleur GeX or Eds TX

A possible route cause for ghost shifting:
The linkage system at the joints of the derailleurs are screwed together by 2 opposite screws. I think it’s a 3 or 2 Allen key.
Now with my EdsTX one of those screws came loose allowing the lower body to move around along the axis of the joint.
Causing some ghost shifts…
So….check the joints frequently…(also applies to front der.)

Likewise--mine (on a gex) actually fell out during a ride--would've been ride stopping were it not the fact tbat they used the same size screw as my garmin mount! Loctite might be a good idea.l, but be careful about not overtorquing--they strip pretty easily.

I dug a bit into this and you are correct, it turns out that SRAM allows you to use your existing AXS 12 speed shifter to work with the 13 speed cassette. But you need to buy a new 13 speed rear derailleur.

I actually had the same issue! Wheeltop sent replacement screws...

Now that LTwoo EGR prices are ridiculous expensive, I'm entertaining getting a Wheeltop GEX. Anyone used both? My only is I don't like the fixed battery. Has anyone used both and what's your thoughts?

I have both.

No additional battery for wheeltop. Can configure SRAM style shifting. Doesn't look at nice as LTWOO and levers feel a little more clunky. Microadjusting the indexing is much easier on Ltwoo. Not much in it altogether though.
