I've been eyeing these wheelsets for a while now, but I am so confused with all the hubs. What should I look for a decent ratchet (DT) style hub? I am at 78 kg more or less climbing avoiding sprints if possible, if that matters. Any suggestions? 248/268?

Go DT ratchet style if you can. But it should be no bug deal as most people dont service there own hubs anyway so it really does not matter. But if you want to swap the racthet over at home ratchet is easier than Pawl,

Thanks! I am rocking DT 370 on my mountain bike with upgraded 60-tooth ratchet ring from AliX and could not be more pleased (oh, the sound!). I service my hubs regularly so I prefer the ratchet system from that perspective as well.

Leaning towards this model in 50 mm depth and wider spokes: https://serenadebikes.net/23mm-internal-high-performance-aero-bike-wheels-build-with-carbon-fiber-spokes-p6704522.html

I've that model in 60 mm. I got them for this season and have been riding them for around 2 months now.

They are massive upgrade to the Elitewheels I had before. The first things I noticed was the acceleration out of the corners etc. But just in general it feels like my bike is just faster this year. My power have not increased, but my speed have and the only thing I really have changed is the wheels (this almost makes it sound like a miracle product.. It's not - but I'm really pleased with it).

I don't know what the forum rules are on this, so I won't just post it, but I've a 8% discount code if you need it.

Hello Serenade !

Do you plan on offering wavy 60-65mm deep wheels ? Would also be interested in 65-70 even.

Thanks

Just watched/listened to your posts on these wheels yesterday. Cool stuff!

The thing is, I mostly do longer and steeper climbs when and where possible. I currently run ICAN AERO35s with 21 mm internal and 35 mm depth on Sapim cx-ray spokes that weight just below 1300 g that I bought new on auction for a fraction of the sticker price. The wheels are fine and all, but I am very tempted to try deeper wheels with carbon spokes (3.5 or even 5 mm) and would love to decrease the weight if possible. I will also need to check the aesthetics of 60 mm deep wheels on my bike.

Thank you mate! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I'm the wrong guy to help for climbing equipment. I'm big/heavy and live in flat Denmark - my go to is always aero. But even 50 mm Serenade would be lighter.

Aesthetic wise I always think that deeper rims looks better :)

You can definitely go lighter and deeper. I got 21mm internal with 50mm deep and 3.5mm carbon spoke. Weight 1180g for the pair.

Finally the weather is good enough for my first test run after purchasing a set from Black Friday discount. I got something I guess a little usual compare to everyone else, 21mm internal with asymmetrical rim, 50mm deep and carbon spokes. Works out to be 1180g. First test ride of 40km, wheel/bike feels fast and stiff (may need to adjust tire pressure a little). But the acceleration and snappiness is like instant!  Looking for more long term testing.

+-14 days to Belgium. Got a message a few days after arriving to ask how it was going with the wheels, follow up on point! ;-)

too early to service but thinking down the road, what tools is needed for the SR278C hubs? I think it needs a special tool like DT swiss to remove the ratchet ring in order to remove the bearings?
