Build will now be as follows

105 Di2 with 165mm cranks
GP5000 35mm AS TR

Excited and nervous! First build, first custom, first custom colour scheme... lots of nerves :)

Still on the fence about what IW wheels to get! I've bought 35mm GP5000's but currently have 23mm IW 29mm OW .. So tempted to go to the 26/31.5 OW/IW that LC sell but just worried I may go below 35mm tyre and then struggle to seat a smaller tyre. Going tubeless if that helps anyone push me one way or another..

Loving seeing other peoples paint schemes. I've tried to go for a similar scheme to the Giant Defy SL 2026 frame but not sure how it will come out. Quite nervous about it as it's a big part of a bike. Just hoping they can pull it off and understand what I'm asking for!

I see people are going for 26mm ID wheels, would this still be suitable for this bike for 32mm tyres? I ordered 23mm based on LC's recommendations but now thinking I should swap them to the gravel 26mm ID ones. Only $20 more.
I've not decided on 35mm or 32mm tyres yet, mostly will be on road but looking at Potoooooo's recommendations it seems that 26mm would be better choice either way?

Apologies for bringing it to this thread but I do feel like given the expertise in this thread that regularly come here and the geometry being the same for you guys to me, it at least gives me a data point so I appreciate the responses. Happy to open a thread here to discuss more if you guys think it's worth it. I do notice that I want to be a little further back in the saddle since the issue came about which of course I'll mention to my bike fitter, and make them aware of the issue before I go in case they want to do some research or something, I don't know, but can't hurt! I specifically want to target the VMO muscle of the quads to pull on the knee cap more to keep it straight on the bending.

165 sounds such a big jump that I'm rather intimidated by the thought of it but of course I would not rule anything out as I am not experienced like you folks!

I know it's not a topic specific to hear but I am wondering what crank lengths people are using? I have an 87cm inseam to the floor, 77cm to ankle roughly. My current bike has a 175mm crank but I feel like I could go smaller as my cadence tends to be a bit lower than it should, about 85-90 most of the time. I also have chondroamalacia patella and as I understand, a faster cadence can help with knee issues. Most bikes around my size are fitting 170 and 172.5mm cranks. I have now purchased a 58cm, with 110cm stem and thinking to grab 170 currently. I can obviously resell and go 172.5mm later on but more hassle. Wonder what people may recommend? Other than "get a bike fit!" as I will get one, I just want a ball park to start with

My concern with that is the double cost as I'll need another once the bike is built and funds are a little tight. Obviously buying the wrong frame is also more expensive. The 56 is quite a lot smaller which scares me!

This all really confuses me, I've had a huge dilemma with the bike frame size. my current bike I feel fits me well other than wanting perhaps a shorter stem but comparing geometry it seems to always come back to a 58.

I am 188cm tall, 87 inseam to barefoot on the floor. Not great flexibility.

I compare my current bike (blue) to the LCR-018D in a 58 (red) it matches closest, 56 is a lot smaller. I was going to buy 58 with a 110cm stem and 0 offset seatpost.

I had a bike fit on my current so it seems like going with a similar size would suit me. Sadly it was 9 years ago and all done on paper which I've long since lost and my bike fitter didn't keep online records.

It appears there are a few people in this thread that are running mechanical on this bike. I have an R7000 Ultegra setup currently and fancy keeping it for now as nothing is wrong with it and I've had no shifting issues. I've seen some tips about cable stops etc in the threads but if anyone is reading that is running a mechanical groupset, any extra hints or tips? thanks

Thanks. How do we like the LC wheelsets as it seems I could get some of their gravel wheels and go ahead with the largest size i can fit. They do a 32mm inner but I guess that would be too big. Otherwise the 26mm at 45mm depth could be the way to go?

This is the issue I find is that I don't have a great deal of funds to splash on components to try and no one can recommend a good "average" so I end up never buying anything. It's a nightmare :P Choice paralysis is biting me hard
I'd probably go 32mm, hooked, I'm 92kg (max), roads are full of potholes here in my country but I'd rarely go on gravel.

Wondering what inner width wheelsets people are pairing with this frame? I can see LC do their own wheelsets but not sure if they are popular or well regarded. I feel like 25mm inner is common now?
