I had the same problem. Masked the hole and used a chainsaw file to make the hole bigger. A little extra work, but easier than returning.

cabling are hidden under the handlebar. Realy easy :-)
I did have to grind down the clamp to thigten it.

If I didn't misunderstand, I have the answer to that on page 20. The Zipp rims have 32mm inner width. and have 44mm tufo tires with good clearance. =47 mm wam

I think 49mm will work fine in the front. But i would not go any wider on the back.

This is 44 Tufo on Zipp xplr rims.
Front wheel has a 6mm allen key and space.
Rear wheel has a 5mm allen key, and its tight.

Hi. I have the 44mm Tufo Thundero on my Zipp xplr rims and they messure 46.8 mm. I have good clearence. Can take pictures later if you want.

That happend to my frame. Had to use a round file to fix it.

Did you need an extra spacers to hide the cables? It is not supposed to be hidden with their headset+spacers?

I had to use the extra spacer in my hand to hide cables.

Was it neccesary to run that spacer from mondince first under the stem?

The spacers on the bike are from Mondince. They have three points that attach to each other. That's why I had to have a headset spacer in addition so the cables were hidden.
Maybe it can be done in another way that I didn't understand how.

I had to buy a round file for saw chain. Masked with lots of tape and some plastic so I didn't damage the frame. It wasn't an easy job and I was constantly afraid of damaging the hole where the cable goes in.
 But after half an hour of filing I finally got the cable through.
