After The Ride / Re: Question for UK riders- trail suggestions

I've driven on the wrong side a few times, so that shouldn't be a problem. :)
"Wrong"? lol

Very nice bike!

But, where is your front derailleur ? I can see you're riding the bike with 2x10, but your FD is missing ?
Please keep in mind the chainrings aren't narrow wide, which means the chain can fall of 'easily'. It's a pity if you mesh up your frame because you aren't using a chain guide/FD..

The thing that finally made me place the order... I emailed my accountant and asked him "If I build a bike and put my company logo on it, can I write it off?". His reply "Absolutely." Boom, order placed!
hihi, this made me laugh. Priceless!

Nice build! And for now, be patient :)

I've got a PDF with all parts of the neco headset. But I couldn't find it (I'm on my mobile right now).
The headset we're talking about is the Neco H373 headset.

Found an image in my google drive :)

Shims between 2/3 (it stick together ) and 4.

That's correct! There is another topic with the same information, couldn't find it right now, but there is.

After 7 months of riding this Chiner, I'm still very happy with the bike.

Still no cracks. The only failure was one of the four ring bearings in my rear wheel. But that was really easy to fix (that's why I chose Novatec hubs).
Changed from 2x10 to 1x10 (absoluteblack NW chainring rules), replaced the soft foam grips to ergo grips and the spider sadle to my old cube X1 saddle.

Nice build! Love the 256! Welcome to this forum.

What size is your frame? You used the smallest stem possible and use the setback of your seat post reversed. Did you consider a smaller frame?

What rims do you have? The 30mm version?

How was your ride yesterday?

So would you not recommend this $8 USD saddle, or do you think you would order another?
No, not for me (82kg), it's not strong enough. And not comfortable above the 40km (for me).
But I'll buy another one for my son, but he can try my old one first.

It's a cheap knock off. To be honest, I didn't expect anything of this 8 USD saddle, but it suprised me. It's better than my previous saddle and I'll keep this one.

Bought it on aliexpress: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/IN-2014-Spider-Ergonomics-hollow-Bicycle-bicycle-parts-saddle-for-men-women-mtb-bike-seat-cushion/2038227912.html

My weight is 82 kg without kit. The weight of the saddle is 185 gram.

After 5 months the saddle begin to fail. Two cracks.
The saddle was comfortable for 40 km.

So, I'm now using my saddle of my previous bike.

After The Ride / Re: Beautiful Day for a Ride

Ha! Hilarious.. That's classic.

And yes, I seen a dude break his arm from being at a full stop and slowly falling over while clipped in. And when I say slow I mean slow lol. Felt like I was watching an instant reply I slow motion.
That's how I bruised my ribs. We stopped for a road, looked left, looked right, looked in front of me and sees they all stopped. Full stop over my front wheel in really slow motion. Felt on my Elbow.
That year I bruised my ribs three times. First time with mountain biking, second time with snowboarding and the last time with windsurfing. Painful year :)

What do you guys recon for the routing of the cables? Does the frontbrakecable go between the frame and the right shifter- and brakecable, or outside?
This is the routing of my cables. It's not an actual picture. I have removed the FD and the FD cable and FD shifter:
Routing the cables this way, it never touch the frame, even when I turn the steer completely to the right or the left.

As the most of us know, Peter has left xmiplay. He leaves because he spent the most effort and energy into the company without any extra rewards.

Talked to him a lot last weeks. He told me he had to travel 3 hours to the office, stays there for the week and at the end of the week he travels back home to his pregnant wife Bella. He was one of the co-owners of xmiplay. Because he's the one who's putting the most effort and energy into the company without extra reward, he decided to leave the company and starts a new company (with Bella).
I told him that his selling point was/is the good and quick communication and the service he offers (most of the time ;) ). He will continuing this.
He has a lot of new ideas to make his company to a success.

So, Peter isn't gone, he's still in business. Within some weeks there is a new website and a new company name.

If you have question for Peter, you can contact him by email or skype:
email: petercycles@foxmail.com
skype: peterxu1206

His new account on ChinerTown: Peter Xu (his real name)

He have some 256 SL, 057, 106 29er frames in stock. Please contact him if you want to know more.
